Skincare Calendar
Learn to take care of your skin in simple daily, weekly, and monthly steps, and become a skincare expert!
Working, studying, eating healthy, exercising, staying up to date on news and trends, being productive… It's exhausting. So to make your life easier, we created the skincare calendar, with simple yet essential habits, so you don't miss a beat in the art of self-care.
Daily
The key to success, like everything in life, is to be consistent. We must take care of our skin every day as a preventive method, not just when we suffer from an acne crisis, dryness, and other tragedies. To avoid drama, follow these simple steps:
Washing
Washing your face, both in the morning and at night, and removing makeup every day (the party is not an excuse), will facilitate the skin's natural regeneration while sleeping. And since we're getting into it, it's also advisable to avoid hot water when washing your face as it dehydrates the face and removes the skin's natural oils, giving it a less radiant appearance and promoting redness and irritation. What we want is just the opposite, right?
Using water that is too hot or washing our face in the wrong direction are some of the "8 mistakes you make in the bathroom that may be affecting your skin".
Hydration
Hydrate the skin twice a day, preferably morning and night. If we want to go expert mode, we can use different creams according to our skin's needs, applying, for example, a specialized night cream. For this, it's important to know your skin type, and believe it or not, oily skin also needs hydration!
* Hydrate without over-hydrating: Just as food doesn't cook faster by turning up the heat, the benefits don't multiply by applying more quantity. A pea-sized amount would be sufficient.
Protection
Protecting the skin from the sun's rays every day of the year is essential for preventing spots. Choose a cream with UV protection or combine moisturizer and sunscreen. It is essential to protect yourself 365 days a year, as the sun continues to rise and affect us even when it's not summer or it's cloudy. In fact, many experts recommend applying protection even when there is no direct sun exposure, such as when indoors or in the shade. In the office or in our living room, we are exposed to 'visible light' or blue light from lamps, LEDs, or electronic devices that can harm us to some extent (yes, your mobile is worsening your complexion). When outdoors, even when we remember to bring an umbrella to the beach, we still need to apply cream to protect ourselves from rays that reflect off the ground or surrounding surfaces, which can contain radiation.

Weekly
Some habits are easier to forget than others, especially when we know that nothing will happen if we leave it for tomorrow, but we know that tomorrow sometimes 'never' comes. These steps are among those forgotten but essential in the long term:
Wash the pillowcase
Clean the brushes
Cleaning makeup brushes is another great forgotten step. It is advisable to run our makeup tools through the washing tunnel at least every 7 to 10 days. Proper maintenance prevents acne, and especially its spread and contagion to other areas. A habit that serves to care for our skin, but that is also good for the brushes themselves, which will be soft and last much longer. Additionally, the dust and dirt from the brushes could also end up sticking to your expensive cosmetics and ruin them.Exfoliate and mask
If you are already reaching pro level, it is advisable to exfoliate the face and apply masks once or twice a week, depending on the condition and needs of your skin. For example, once a week, or even every two weeks, it is advisable to perform a ritual with a facial mask, preferably on Sunday nights with a good snack and some relaxing music. The mask will perform its function perfectly as long as it is chosen in accordance with the skin, which can be dry, combination, oily, or mature. Another option would be the exfoliant, which can be applied once a week for normal skin, once every 5 days for combination or oily skin, or every two weeks if you have sensitive or very dry skin.
Monthly
Even by strictly following daily and weekly tasks, little by little our skin accumulates dirt and you can definitely notice it! Just like with the fridge, there comes a time when it becomes unavoidable and you have to take out the tupper with croquettes that has been forgotten. Here are some routines that are good to do from time to time:Change of cosmetics
Change cosmetics according to the demands of each season or time: humidity, dryness, UV rays, acne outbreaks, allergies... Seasons change, just like our body and skin, and therefore our care. Some, like hydration or UV protection, are basics that need to be enhanced, while others may be temporary. Additionally, it is essential to check the expiration of cosmetics, so we don't end up applying a product whose benefits have expired because it expired when we had our communion.Deep cleansing
Getting a deep cleansing at an aesthetic medicine center is a good monthly indulgence that our skin will appreciate. This aesthetic treatment focuses on oxygenating the skin and cleaning impurities such as blackheads, flakiness, pimples... Being a more complex treatment, it should always be performed by an expert to avoid wounds and scars. Don't try any home experiments, as you will regret it later. Another similar and recommended treatment to be a skincare pro is chemical peeling. This is not equivalent to deep cleansing, although it also aims to rejuvenate the face and provide luminosity. They differ in that cleansing oxygenates, but peeling removes the most superficial layers of the skin, achieving the elimination of spots and acne marks. In this case, it is advisable to respect the following timings: a superficial peel every 2-4 weeks, a medium peel every 6-8 months, and a deep peel once a year at most.
Facial hydration
Deep facial hydration is another option if we want to pamper our face. Also known as facial mesotherapy, it consists of first cleaning the skin to ensure that no residues or makeup remains. Then, apply a topical anesthetic cream to avoid discomfort during the process. Finally, microinjections, administered by a professional, introduce the substances from the vitamin cocktail into the dermis to nourish the entire facial skin. This procedure, currently available at Bloome, has multiple benefits: the skin hydration, the antioxidant effect and the lifting effect. In addition to containing hyaluronic acid in its vitamin cocktail, it reactivates the skin's natural functions through cutaneous bio-stimulation. This is indeed a good facelift.
